The huge luxury campers with their enormous speakers and outside TVs were constantly visible.
Of course, we were envious and a touch jealous.
Don’t get me wrong: I like sitting around a campfire just as much as anybody else.
However, it was always exciting to see another family enjoying Star Wars beneath the sky.
For years, I believed we’d never be able to do it with our old 2001 Winnebago.
But I’ve figured out a way to fix it! It also fits in any RV that has an exterior cabinet.
It also doesn’t need a strangely shaped outside cabinet to function.
Enough with the chitchat.
Let’s get this party started so we can see Star Wars later tonight!
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
- A third “planks of wood
- We found this fantastic carpet that completely matched the inside of our cabinets.
- Adhesive spray
- There’s a television. We just utilized a 32-year-old computer “we happened to have sitting around If you don’t already have one, here’s a decent deal on a TV.
- Screws
- Wood glue (I use Gorilla since it really adheres)

Step 2: Preparation
You should look for an outdoor cabinet that meets your requirements.
It should be on the right side of your coach and large enough to accommodate your TV laying down.
We were also fortunate enough to have electricity and cable already installed in an outside cabinet.
If you don’t have it, you’ll need to install a power outlet.
You can always see movies if you don’t have cable.
You’ll also need a table to place your TV on; if you don’t have one, you can just place it on the floor.
We were fortunate because our bus already had a pull-out table.
Step 3: Construct It
It’s not difficult to construct.
Make a shelf out of the plywood that is somewhat broader and higher than your TV.
You’ll slide your TV beneath the shelf to protect it while still having space above it to store stuff.

Step 4: Cover It In Carpet
Attach the carpet to the shelf using your spray adhesive.
Fold it over and cut it neatly to make it seem lovely.
You don’t have to do this, but I believe it looks better and will keep the TV from scratching.
Step 5: Put It All Together And Have Fun!
Place your shelf in the cabinet.
There’s no need to screw it down or anything; just put it there.
You can stack items on top of the shelf while still being able to move your TV in and out.
Simply raise the table, slip the TV out, and plug it in anytime you want to watch TV! Now you’re viewing Star Wars on your sophisticated gear like everyone else.
It makes RVing a lot more enjoyable! You can’t spend every night staring into a fire, but you also don’t want to be locked indoors when camping.
This is a fantastic way to enjoy some excellent entertainment while enjoying the beautiful outdoors!
